Frequently asked questions
Everything managers ask before their first reminder goes out.
Do residents need to download an app?
No. Reminders arrive as ordinary text messages and emails, so residents need nothing but the phone they already have. There is no app, no login, and no account for them to forget.
Can residents unsubscribe from SMS reminders?
Yes. Every text ends with a short opt-out link a resident can tap, and every email carries a one-click unsubscribe link. Opt-outs take effect immediately and a manager cannot undo them, which is what keeps you on the right side of messaging rules.
Can I try it before sending to real residents?
Yes — and you have to. New accounts start in test mode, where you send messages to your own verified phone and inbox to see exactly what a resident would receive. We review every account before its first message goes out to residents.
Why do you review accounts before live sending?
Because text messaging gets abused, and one bad sender ruins delivery rates for everyone on the platform. A short review keeps messages landing in the right inboxes.
What can I send reminders about?
Anything on a schedule your residents need to know: bin and recycling collections, parking restrictions, maintenance windows, water interruptions, inspections, gritting, building notices, community events, and parcel collection.
Do I need to import a spreadsheet to get started?
No. Most managers add their residents by hand in a few minutes, and that is all the free tier needs. Tell us if you have a long list and we will help you load it.
What happens when I run out of free messages?
Nothing breaks and nothing sends by surprise. You will see your remaining credits in the app, and when they run out you can get in touch to keep going.
Can you set it up for me?
Yes. Send us your property details and your resident list and we will get your first reminder scheduled with you. During this early period we do this personally for every account.
Does ResidentCue work across the UK?
Yes. We send to UK mobile numbers anywhere in the United Kingdom, and reminders are scheduled in Europe/London time. We do not send to numbers outside the UK yet.
Can I send recurring reminders?
Yes. A reminder can repeat on a schedule — weekly bin collections are the usual case — or go out once for a one-off notice. You write it once either way.
Can I send both SMS and email?
Yes. Send by text, by email, or both. Each resident can have a preferred channel, and we use whichever one we can actually reach them on.
How many residents can I add?
The free tier covers a single property and a small list, which is enough to test properly. Paid plans cover up to 50 or 200 residents per property; get in touch if your block is larger.
Do I need a sales call?
No. Pricing is on the pricing page, you can sign up and test on your own phone without talking to anyone, and assisted setup is an offer rather than a requirement.
Still deciding?
